I am an architect of complex software systems and a full-stack engineer with over two decades of professional experience designing and implementing highly reliable and scalable web applications.
I build a software suite used to automate the generation of data-driven presentations.
I maintain and expand the commercial real estate research web application and advise on system-wide architectural design.
I most recently served as the principal engineer, designing and building an application for the nationwide research of commercial real estate property. This SaaS web application was built from the ground up with a zero-downtime, horizontally scalable design utilizing a fully modern architectural stack: kubernetes-orchestrated, container-based Java REST microservices hosted on AWS, multiple React JS frontend applications, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
The success of this application led directly to the acquisition of Catylist by Moody's Analytics.
Prior to the company going fully remote in 2015, I served as Director of Technical Operations charged with maintaining the company's primary (now legacy) software, a Java-based web application with roots going back to the early 2000s. During my tenure, I implemented a mature development process, culminating in a fully automated continuous-integration delivery process with the new application. I also oversaw the migration of the legacy application from bare-metal servers colocated in a local data center to a fully cloud-based AWS environment.
